Battery Maintenance – Avoid Breaking Down on the Road
The service life of a car battery is usually 2-3 years. Inadequate daily maintenance will greatly shorten its service life and even cause the vehicle to fail to start on the road. First of all, avoid long-term power loss. After the vehicle is turned off, do not turn on the vehicle lights, on-board chargers, or other electrical equipment for a long time, otherwise, it will quickly consume the battery power and cause power loss. If the vehicle is parked for a long time, it is recommended to start it once every 15-20 days and run it for 10-15 minutes to charge the battery. Secondly, regularly check the battery terminals. If white or green corrosion appears, wipe it clean with warm water in time, and then apply a small amount of Vaseline to prevent oxidation and rust and avoid poor contact. In addition, check whether the battery case has bulges or leaks; if so, it needs to be replaced immediately. At the same time, note that the charging voltage of the battery should be stable to avoid overcharging, otherwise, it will accelerate the aging of internal plates and affect the service life.
